The ensigns of victory -- Independent Prophets and Dependent/Lesser Prophets.
1)
Bahá'u'lláh, the Independent Prophet, HE Who leadeth to true victory..
The glory with which this Day is invested hath been explicitly
mentioned and clearly set forth in most heavenly Books and Scriptures.
However, the divines of the age have debarred men from this
transcendent station, and have kept them back from this Pinnacle of
Glory, this Supreme Goal.
Blessed art thou inasmuch as the darkness of vain imaginings hath been
powerless to hinder thee from the light of certitude, and the onslaught
of the people hath failed to deter thee from the Lord of mankind.
Appreciate thou the value of this high station and beseech God --
exalted is His glory -- to graciously enable thee to safeguard it.
Imperishable dominion hath exclusively pertained unto the One true God
and His loved ones and will continue to pertain unto them everlastingly.
The glory that hath shone forth from the horizon of eternity rest upon
thee and upon such as have taken fast hold of the Cord of God that no
man can sever.
HE Who leadeth to true victory is come.
By the righteousness of God! He is fully capable of revolutionizing the
world through the power of a single Word. Having enjoined upon all men
to observe wisdom, He Himself hath adhered to the cord of patience and
resignation.

Say: From My laws the sweet-smelling savour of My garment can be smelled, and by their aid the standards of Victory will be planted upon the highest peaks.
The Tongue of My power hath, from the heaven of My omnipotent glory,
addressed to My creation these words: "Observe My commandments, for the
love of My beauty." Happy is the lover that hath inhaled the divine
fragrance of his Best-Beloved from these words, laden with the perfume
of a grace which no tongue can describe. By My life! He who hath drunk
the choice wine of fairness from the hands of My bountiful favour will
circle around My commandments that shine above the Dayspring of My
creation.
Think not that We have revealed unto you a mere code of laws. Nay,
rather, We have unsealed the choice Wine with the fingers of might and
power. To this beareth witness that which the Pen of Revelation hath
revealed. Meditate upon this, O men of insight!

Jesus Christ, the Independent Prophet, and the spiritual victory he brought.
The obstacle which prevents the so-called religious man from
accepting the teachings of God is literal interpretation. Moses
announced the coming of Christ. The Israelites were awaiting him with
the greatest impatience and anxiety, but when he came they called him
Beelzebub. "The conditions laid down in the Bible for the coming of the
expected one were not fulfilled," they said. They did not understand
that the conditions were symbolical.
For instance, it is written -- "He will come from an unknown place."
Jesus came from Nazareth. "How can this be the Messiah?" they reasoned.
"It is written -- he will carry an iron scepter, that is to say, his
shepherd's staff will be a sword. This man has no sword. It was
prophesised -- he will be seated on the throne of David; behold this
man has not so much as a mat whereon to sit. He was to spread the law
of Moses; this man, on the contrary, seeks to destroy it. How can he be
the promulgator of God's law?" they scornfully laughed.
It was prophesised that the east and west would be united under the
Jewish law; the animals would be at peace one with another; that the
wolf would no longer devour the sheep. They did not see these
conditions fulfilled. Roman tyranny enveloped the world and they
crucified the Christ.
The Jews were blind to reality. The real Christ came from the city of
light in the eternal realms Christ is a king. His shepherd's staff,
that is, his tongue, was a sword dividing the true from the false. The throne of David is not a material throne but an eternal kingdom. Christ re-established this kingdom; it has been forgotten. Christ conquered the east and the west. This means a spiritual victory, not a material one.

Imam Ali, the first Dependent Prophet of Muhammad.
Say I swear by God! They to whom you attribute knowledge and have
accepted them as your divines they are in the sight of God the worst of
men nay the quintessence of evil flees from them. Thus has the matter
been inscribed in the scrolls of God's knowledge. We testify that they
have not drunk from the fountains of knowledge and they have not
attained unto a word of Wisdom and have not become aware of the
mysteries of Revelation and have been racing in the land of their
selfish desires. Nothing of rejection and denial against a prophet or a
successor of a prophet has come to pass except after their permission.
Thus has always been their injunction carried out on the Countenances
of holiness.
Say to them: O ignorant ones! Did We not reveal in the past: "A Day
that God shall come in the canopies of clouds."[4] How is it that when
He came down in the clouds of Revelation in the Temple
of 'Ali [Imam Ali], you turned away and rejected Him and waxed haughty
and brought about your own perdition?[5] Was it not also revealed in
your Book: "the Day when Thy Lord comes or certain of the signs of Thy
Lord."[6] And when He did come with evident signs wherefore did ye turn
away from those signs and veiled yourselves with the veils of self?..

Al Fath (The Victory)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
48:1. Verily We have granted thee a manifest Victory:
48:2. That Allah may forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to
follow; fulfil His favor to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way [recognition of the Imam Ali];
48:3. And that Allah may help thee with powerful help.
48:4. It is He who sent down Tranquillity into the hearts of the
Believers, that they may Add Faith to their Faith; for to Allah belong
the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is full of Knowledge
and Wisdom;
48:5. That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath
which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from
them; and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (For
man)
48:6. And that He may punish the Hypocrites, men and women, and the
Polytheists, men and women, who imagine an evil opinion of Allah. On
them is a round of Evil: the Wrath of Allah is on them: He has cursed
them and got Hell ready for them: and evil is it for a destination.
48:7. For to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.
48:8. We have truly sent thee as a witness, as a bringer of Glad Tidings, and as a Warner:
48:9. In order that ye (o men) may believe in Allah and His Messenger,
that ye may assist and honor Him, and celebrate his praises morning and
evening.
48:10. Verily those who plight their fealty to thee do no less than plight
their fealty to Allah: the Hand of Allah is over their hands: Then
anyone who violates His oath, does so to the harm of his own soul, and
anyone who fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah, Allah will soon
grant him a great Reward.
48:11. The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were
engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families; do
thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is
not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene)
on your behalf with Allah, if His will is to give you some loss or to
give you some profit? but Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.
48:12. "Nay, ye thought that the Messenger and the Believers would never
return to their families; this seemed pleasing in your hearts, and ye
conceived an evil thought, for ye are a people lost (in wickedness)."
48:13. And if any believe not in Allah and His Messenger, We have prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire!

Abdu'l-Baha, the pre-existent Branch, the ensign of victory.
He is Eternal in His Abha Horizon!
Verily, the Cause of God hath come upon the clouds of utterances and
the polytheists are in this day in great torment! Verily, the hosts of
revelation have descended with banners of inspiration from the heaven
of the Tablet in the name of God, the powerful, the mighty! At this time the monotheists all rejoice in the victory of God and His dominion, and the deniers will then be in manifest perplexity...
Enter, O people, beneath the shelter of the Word! Then drink therefrom
the choice wine of inner significances and utterances; for therein is
hidden the kawther of the glorious One -- - and it hath appeared
from the horizon of the Will of your Lord, the merciful, with wonderful
lights.
Say: Verily, the ocean of pre-existence [Abdu'l-Baha] hath branched forth from this
most great Ocean [Baha'u'llah]. Blessed, therefore, is he who abides upon Its shores,
and is of those who are established thereon. Verily, this most sacred
temple of Abha -- -the Branch of Holiness -- - hath branched
forth from the Sadratu'l-Muntaha. Blessed is whosoever sought shelter
beneath it and is of those who rest therein.
Say: Verily, the branch of command hath sprung forth from this root
which God hath firmly planted in the ground of the will, the limb of
which has been elevated to a station which encompasses all existence.
Therefore, exalted be He for this creation, the lofty, the blessed, the
inaccessible, the mighty!
O ye people! Draw nigh unto It, and taste the fruits of its knowledge
and wisdom on the part of the mighty, the knowing One. Whosoever will
not taste thereof shall be deprived of the bounty, even though he hath
partaken of all that is in the earth -- - were ye of those who
know.
Say: Verily a word hath gone forth in favor from the most great Tablet
and God has adorned It with the mantle of Himself, and made it
sovereign over all in the earth and a sign of His grandeur and
omnipotence among the creatures; in order that, through it, the people
shall praise their Lord, the mighty, the powerful, the wise; and that,
through it, they shall glorify their creator and sanctify the self of
God which standeth within all things. Verily, this is naught but a
Revelation upon the part of the wise, the ancient One!

O thou fragrant rose blooming in the Garden of Guidance!
Thank thou God for that He hath removed from off thine eye the
covering, made thee to see the signs of the Kingdom of thy Lord, the
Supreme, filled for thee the cup of bounty and gave thee to drink the
pure wine of fidelity which He hath promised to the sincere in the holy
Books and Tablets.
O thou my dear! The cup of knowledge is overflowing; blessed are they
who partake in draughts! The fountain of life is issuing forth; blessed
are they who drink! The doors of the Kingdom are opened; O what good
news to those who advance! The garden of paradise is drawn near; O what
a pleasure to those who enter! The dove of holiness
is cooing; O what a happiness to those who hear! The gates of Heaven
are open; blessed are they who see! The hosts of angels are standing in
battle order; what a joy to those who gain the victory! The trumpet of life is sounding; how good it is to those who are awake!
As to thee: Realize the bounty of thy Lord as it is, and thank thou thy
Lord and praise Him for that He hath directed thee to the right path.

The Dependent Prophets of Baha'u'llah, the ensigns of victory.
Endowments dedicated to charity revert to God, the Revealer of Signs. None hath the right to dispose of them without leave from Him Who is the Dawning-place of Revelation.
After Him, this authority shall pass to the Aghsan, and after them to
the House of Justice -- should it be established in the world by then
-- that they may use these endowments for the benefit of the Places
which have been exalted in this Cause, and for whatsoever hath been
enjoined upon them by Him Who is the God of might and power. Otherwise,
the endowments shall revert to the people of Baha who speak not except by His leave
and judge not save in accordance with what God hath decreed in this
Tablet -- lo, they are the champions of victory betwixt heaven and
earth -- that they may use them in the manner that hath been laid down
in the Book by God, the Mighty, the Bountiful.

Raise up, I implore Thee, O my God, as helpers to this Revelation such
as shall be counted worthy of Thy name and of Thy sovereignty, that
they may remember me among Thy creatures, and hoist the ensigns of Thy victory in Thy land.

Darkness hath encompassed every land, O my God, and caused most of Thy
servants to tremble. I beseech Thee, by Thy Most Great Name, to raise
in every city a new creation that shall turn towards Thee, and shall
remember Thee amidst Thy servants, and shall unfurl by virtue of their
utterances and wisdom the ensigns of Thy victory, and shall detach themselves from all created things.

The Dependent Prophets of Baha'u'llah, "hands of ascendancy and might,... who will arise to win victory for this Youth [Baha'u'llah]".
Erelong shall God draw forth,
out of the bosom of power, the hands of ascendancy and might, and shall
raise up a people who will arise to win victory for this Youth
[Baha'u'llah] and who will purge mankind from the defilement of the outcast and the
ungodly. These hands will gird up their loins to champion the Faith of
God, and will, in My name the Self-Subsistent, the Mighty, subdue the
peoples and kindreds of the earth. They will enter the cities and will
inspire with fear the hearts of all their inhabitants. Such are the
evidences of the might of God; how fearful, how vehement is His might,
and how justly doth He wield it! He, verily, ruleth and transcendeth
all who are in the heavens and on the earth, and revealeth what He
desireth according to a prescribed measure.

Should any one of them be called upon to confront all the hosts of
creation, he would assuredly prevail through the ascendancy of My Will.
This, verily, is a proof of My power, though My creatures comprehend it
not. This, verily, is a sign of My sovereignty, though My subjects
understand it not. This, verily, is a token of My command, though My
servants perceive it not. This, verily, is an evidence of Mine
ascendancy, though none amongst the people is truly thankful for it,
save those whose eyes God hath illumined with the light of His
knowledge, whose hearts He hath made the repository of His Revelation,
and upon whose shoulders He hath placed the weight of His Cause. These
shall inhale the fragrances of the All-Merciful from the garment of His
Name, and shall rejoice at all times in the signs and verses of their
Lord. As for those who disbelieve in God, and join partners with Him, they
shall indeed incur His wrath, shall be cast into the Fire, and shall be
made to dwell, fearful and dismayed, in its depths. Thus do We expound
Our verses, and make plain the truth with clear proofs, that perchance
the people may reflect upon the signs of their Lord.

The ascendancy of Imam Husayn, the third Dependent Prophet of Muhammad.
Were the verse "And verily Our host shall conquer" to be literally
interpreted, it is evident that it would in no wise be applicable to
the chosen Ones of God and His hosts, inasmuch as Husayn, whose heroism
was manifest as the sun, crushed and subjugated, quaffed at last the
cup of martyrdom in Karbila, the land of Taff. Similarly, the sacred
verse "Fain would they put out God's light with their mouths: But God
hath willed to perfect His light, albeit the infidels abhor it." Were
it to be literally interpreted it would never correspond with the
truth. For in every age the light of God hath, to outward seeming, been
quenched by the peoples of the earth, and the Lamps of God extinguished
by them. How then could the ascendancy of the sovereignty of these
Lamps be explained? What could the potency of God's will to "perfect
His light" signify? As hath already been witnessed, so great was the
enmity of the infidels, that none of these divine Luminaries ever found
a place for shelter, or tasted of the cup of tranquillity. So heavily
were they oppressed, that the least of men inflicted upon these
Essences of being whatsoever he listed. These sufferings have been
observed and measured by the people. How, therefore, can such people be
capable of understanding and expounding these words of God, these
verses of everlasting glory?
But the purpose of these verses is not what they have imagined. Nay,
the terms "ascendancy," "power," and "authority" imply a totally
different station and meaning. For instance, consider the pervading
power of those drops of the blood of Husayn which besprinkled the
earth. What ascendancy and influence hath the dust itself, through the
sacredness and potency of that blood, exercised over the bodies and
souls of men!
